Wiring an electric Fireplace for 240v.?

After wiring my cct brkr for 240v I had to have a repairman come in to see why my fireplace did not produce heat. He found that with the 4 wire connection, recommended, I was getting 117v from red to white and 117v from black to white. The problem being is that I also only read 117 from black to red, where it was expected to read 230-240v. Checked the wiring for my dryer which is also 240v, 4 wire and it did read 240v from black to red. Why do I only get 117 when I should be getting 240v?

I just got done taking the ACT and it seems like style, organization, misplaced modifiers, redundancy, wording, unclear-ness are so easy to fall into that I was thinking do novels really have to follow these rules?? Alright… There’s this girl that quite frankly, I believe I love. Can’t stop thinking about her and she is, at this time in my life, one of the few things that can actually make me smile. Its not that I am obsessed or infatuated, it is just more of my incompetence to be able to do what I need to. I am a sopre in high school and she is a junior. At the beginning of the school year, I had known her for a year and I liked her during the previous year but I made no attempt to get closer. This year that has changed and my interest in her has increased greatly as I got to know her better. I am doing everything in my ability to get to the point where I can ask her out. One major point to bring up is that to this date, I have never been in a relationship of any sorts. Period. After about three months of getting closer to her I asked my best friend (he had been friends with her since they were young) out of desperation, to call her up, ask if she thought I liked her and what she thought of me (he pretended he had no idea). She said she thought I did like her and that at that time she only liked me as a friend. Now, a month later, I had been talking to her pretty much every day. Both in person (on the bus everyday) and on aim. She was opening up much more to me and every once in a while she will bring up the fact that she thinks that she is fat. Now, I know that this is a big load of bull so I always just explain to her why she isn't and I just try and comfort her. Now, in a much broader period of time, I realized that I was talking to her a bit too much. Realizing this, I backed off, trying to give her some space. As a result, I think she doesn’t feel as pressured anymore, and as a result, when I do talk with her, the conversations tend to be much more engaging and just better overall. Unfortunately, I have gone back to my old habits of being too caught up in the moment and freaked out to ever talk to her in person. At this time, I haven’t the faintest idea of what she feels for me, and what is going through her head. The time I spend talking with her, even the time I spend with her when I don’t talk is an adrenaline rush like none other. I feel ecstatic. I literally never feel full. I could count on one hand how many times I have felt satisfied over last few years. I am not really fat just a little podgy around the middle( 5foot5 and 9.3) but I am steadily gaining a few pounds per year. I just can't stop eating. I eat at least 200/300g of choc a day,crisps and biscuits along with one or sometimes two huge healthy dinner. I do no exercise so although I dont look fat my body is so flabby and i have no muscles at all. I think I consume approx 3500 a day if not more. I feel so unhealthy. No matter what I eat I am never, ever ever satisfied. SO SO annoying and costing me a small fortune. despite having a hot pot with meat and veg 1 hour ago I want another dinner now.Tried going to gym but got more hungry and ended up putting on weight

Why is my HTC Tilt not recognizing my SIM card?

I have an HTC Tilt with At&t since Feb. and it works fine for a period of time, but after a while something seems to happen and when I look at it to check time or something it shows me,"Please insert SIM Card." At first I thought my phone was locked but it works without any problems half of the time so it can't be locked only at times... If anyone out there knows what I can do I would really appreciate it. I have checked different forums and i still haven't found the right answer, i have also called At&t and they have not being able to give me a solution as well as HTC. When i have this problem it goes out on me for about 1-3 days and i just have to keep trying on and off to see which time it will turn on without a problem. I have a BlackJack which was my phone before that, which i never got rid of so when this happens I switch my SIM card and it doesn't give me any issues on my blackjack. Husband trading restraining order against me and the kids for $100000?

In our divorce my husband is offering to remove the restraining order he got against me and the kids, if I let him keep 100K of property. Ever heard of anything like this! Should I let him do it? He got the restraining orders by default, and slandered our names with them. I'd like them gone - but is this ethical? I've thought of going back to the restraining order judge and trying to get them removed directly but I'm quite scared of trying. There was no justification for them but he perjured himself and the court believed him (said the children slashed his tires when they were in another state!). I posted a recent question earlier this week somewhat similar to this one, to inform you on my situation I'll start from the beginning. Great boyfriend, always cared, trusted, loves me, he has a great family, he has an awesome personality, hes cute, and doesn't lie to me about anything! I've been with him a year and four months and like any other relationship we have our arguments over ridiculous topics. He has never looked at another girl, he has always been straightforward with me, and his mom is almost like a best friend to me. He isn't too happy with his mom and me being best friends because he doesn't want me saying anything to her that will make him embarred. He explains to me that he has to face her everyday and not me. I always ignore him and his meaningless/silly complaints because he loves to joke around about it. You are probably thinking I have it good relationship wise, but here is the downfall after all this good. He is overly protective over me. I'm not one of those High school type girls who wears exploiting clothes, who hugs any male as long as everyone is watching, yells and swears as long as her friends are around, and is a straight out drama filled. I would suppose I'm quite, I wear jeans or pajama bottoms depending on if I'm on my period or not, I'm focused on school and my grades, and I don't care much for guys at my High school. I suppose I'm one of those girls who want a good career that can pay for her bills on her own without any help. There's a lot for you to deal with. I think I'll just address some points. For one thing, I wouldn't go advertising your potential ity until you're more sure of your feelings. Looking for the best inflatable mattress for camping?

My wife and I usually camp in October / November time frame in the northern coast of California. Most of the air mattress' we have used loose a lot of air through the night. To the point where our backsides are easily on the floor while our heads are 7 inches of of the ground. I know that with the cold weather we are bound to loose air, but i was curious if there are any recommended air mattress' out there designed to stay better insulated or something. I am 19 years old and just found out that I am pregnant. I would be 20 when the baby was born. After recently battling cervical cancer, I only have enough of my cervix left to support a baby. I have HPV and harbor a very aggressive cervical cancer strain, so it is possible that the cancer could return and if any more of my cervix were removed I would no longer be able to carry a baby. Also, I have a rare hereditary uterine disease. Every woman on my dads' side of the family has had a hysterectomy in her early 20's due to this impairing disease. I have ALWAYS wanted to experienced motherhood, preferably of my own biological child. My family & I have been living in fear that I would not be able to. Also, I have always been against personally having an abortion. My 24 year olf bf [he will be 25 when baby arrives], however, is begging me to get an abortion. ANy advice?

That's unusual that you are alternating b/w diarrhea and constipation. Maybe you have irritable bowel syndrome. As for the diarrhea and cramps, you can try eating a banana. I know it is the last thing you want to do right now, but it might help. When I was younger I had a stomach flu where I had severe diarrhea all day (I felt nauseous as well). My mom finally got me a banana and insisted I eat it. I slowly ate it (so that I wouldn't throw it up) and my diarrhea completely stopped! I don't want to steer you wrong if there is something more serious happening, but this is my best advice. Hope you feel better soon!

Igraduated from bmt just about a week ago and am now in Tech School. My problem is that I am having a very difficult time fitting in. In fact I always seemed to have a hard time fitting in. I know, its very upsetting for anyone who watches that show. I watch it all the time. Some people view dogs sometimes as livestock. They just deal with it differently than some of us. Its heartbreaking to watch. The more we support, and give money to the SPCA's then the more they can do to go out and find these poor animals who need help. How can I run World at War 5 on my laptop more quickly?

My son received World at War 5 for PC on Christmas Day. He has recently bought a Dell Inspiron laptop with a 2.1 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 4Gb of RAM, an integrated graphics card GMA X3100 and a hard drive of 320 Gb. The laptop meets the game's system requirements as far as I can tell except for the processor speed, which it says should be 3GHz or better. Is there any way I can adjust the laptop or game so that it can run (it jerks so slowly as to be unusable)? If not, is it feasible to change the processor inside the laptop without it costing the earth?

Also, if you're eating healthy and taking a prenatal, your baby will get good nutrients from the milk. My baby is 5 months old and i have a 5 year old and 3 year old at home with me all day and an 8 year old in school. My husband is a good support to me but it just doesn't seem like enough. I was a lot like you in high school. Being a part of the popular crowd was never something I was able to do even though I was friendly with most of them. I think the reason they're popular is that they appear cool to others who don't really exude that. They're often confident, wealthy, well dressed, participate in sports and student council and such. People notice them, and they thrive on that- gives them more confidence. So I think all of these likeable features of popularity seems to give off a certain social permission to do stupid things like doing drugs, drinking, and being ually promiscuous. Totally backwards, I know. High school in general is kind of a joke. None of this will matter once you graduate- I guarantee it!

Yes I was aware of it. Only because I work for a major food factory and I see what the FDA allows or misses. I work for a major food company and generally I don't eat their food because of what they get away with. But I have heard from some of our bosses that we have the cleanest plant they have ever been to. Disturbing if you ask me, BUT I don't think those things are necessarily dangerous, but it's not fair that the label is supposed to be the control point, which is a huge FDA checkpoint. The braker on the box didnt trip, no orage mark, I reset all just in case and still no luck on brakers, I checked the brakers with a voltage tester and they all seem good also. Parent of 19 yr old mother making bad decisions?

my daughter got pregnant at 17 my gorgeous granddaughter was born in june 08. my daughter and her boyfriend were together for almost 2 yrs and then they started fighting alot and her friends wanted to take her out for her birthday and i thought it was a good idea she hadnt been out since she was pregnant. She missed all of her senior year activities while he still hung out with his friends and did what he wanted anyway he got mad and he said he was going to take the baby to his mom's house and would bring her home by 10 that night then he called her and told her he was keeping her over night and she said ok the on Saturday she called him and told him to make sure he had her home by 11 because she had to go to work and we had somewhere to go and he told her no that he wasnt bring her home so he came to our house to get his stuff and he didnt bring her so we had to get the police involved so we could go get the baby at his house and his family does drugs and his brother in law just got out of prison and his mom even does drugs his family wont tell us the real reason his brother in law was in prison but anyway we got the baby within 2 hours and my daughter allowed the father to see the baby 3 days a week for 2 hours each day and then all of a sudden he quit coming because he said her father and i made him feel uncomfortable. he doesnt pay any child support and when he took the baby my daughter lost her job because she called into work for 2 days. so since then my husband and i have been supporting both our 19 yr old daughter our 14 yr old son and our 6 month old granddaughter completly because she hasnt been able to find a job. then out of the blue the father calls and she talks to him and now she has went with him to his mom's house with the baby 1 day last week and today she went again. we have been arguing for 2 weeks about this because we keep telling her he is no good because my husband got him a job at his place of employment so he could take care of his child and the father is going to work bragging about the sheriff coming to his house to serve him with papers for child support and his mom and sister keep telling them he doesnt live there. and we told her she should make him pay child support and then he can see her not let him see her and then he might pay. Now today she is staying over at his mom's house over night i know that they will probably get back together and i just dont want her and the baby around his family because of the back ground and him taking the baby. this isnt all that has happened but it would take too long to tell all but i need some advice i know she is an adult by law but she is not making good decisions and she told her father and i to pretty much stay out of her business and let her make her own decisions that it is her life and her baby. we have taken care of this baby since she was born financially and have also helped her parent her. i am just worried about the baby. what should i do?

What do I do about my terrible headaches?

It has been over three weeks now that I have been experiencing very painful headaches. So painful that they are debilitating. They seem to be worse when I am up and about. All I want to do is sleep because it is the little relief I receive. I have been to many doctors and a neurologist. He diagnosed me with migraines. I am not sure thats what I have though because I don't experience many of the symptoms. I am sixteen so he said that migraines in my age group can be atypical. He gave me topamax as a preventative and midrin for pain. The midrin does not work at all, but because of my age no one will prescribe me anything stronger. I am just lying here suffering and no one seems to understand. Any enlightenment on the situation?

im not pregnant at the moment but with my daughter i was looking forward to labour i wasnt scared like most of the mums i was excited and everyone thought i was mad! i had a good labour and birth which im really chuffed about, i had pethedine and gas and air towards the end and like you needed stitches which i used most of the gas and air for! they were definately more painful than the birth itself. were planning on trying for another baby after christmas and im really looking forward to doing it all over again. congrats on the new baby and good luck!

How do I make soup using rib bones?

NOTE- I don't have a crock-pot. I cooked baby back ribs tonight and got the idea to make soup with the bones and leftover meat and some vegetables. We have frozen veggies so I can figure that one out, but what do I do to make the liquid? Just boil the bones? For how long? How much water? Well, that's hard to say. But I will tell you that you won't be able to successfully sue either of them. If you were at the store during the time that the rings came up missing, and you looked at the rings in question, then they very likely had probable cause to detain and question you. I know that spending two and a half hours dealing with this was inconvenient and probably embarring, but be glad that they finally realized that you were not the culprit. But they do have the right to detain and question possible suspects. I am very sorry that you had to go through that. Can someone help me with my eyes?

every once in a while for like two hours I get spots in front of my eyes. for example if I am reading I can only see about half of the letters in a word. its seems like things are just whited out or something. I have worn gles my whole life and have had this prroblem steadily for the past two years yet everytime I tell my eye doctor about it they say I am too young to have those types of problems with my eyes. what could this be? any ideas at all?

Allright, well I was under the impression that progressed aspects were only relevant in terms of how they relate to the natal chart...so I'm at a bit of a loss here. Leash-trained cat is driving me crazy!?

I am a veterinary student and live in an apartment with my one year old white cat, Margie. I have taught her to walk on a leash and she does very well and loves to go on her walks every night. There is only one problem: when she is in the apartment she sits at the door and meows and yowls constantly to go on a walk. It is becoming difficult to study with her constantly meowing. I go home to our farm every weekend and she is outside most of the time then doing whatever barn cats do. I understand why she meows, and that letting her outside all weekend and walking her on a leash every night only reinforces her love of the outdoors and the meowing to go outside. What I want to know is if there are any behavior modification techniques I can try to at least decrease the meowing. It is getting to the point I am considering leaving her on the farm full time, but I love her to death and don't want to do that. I have tried her with water, and it does help, but I don't want her to become fearful and I can't be walking around with a water bottle in my hand all the time! Any help would be greatly appreciated and if I am forgetting any details please ask more questions. Thanks!

I recently finished "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold, and it was absolutely amazing. I've always enjoyed Chuck Palahniuk, especially "Diary", "Lullaby", and "Haunted" (also, "Fight Club" was a great read). I personally love the Harry Potter series, and I also enjoyed Lemony Snicket's "Series of Unfortunate Events", and anther great fantasy series, "A Wheel of Time", although sadly it will never be finished (Robert Jordan recently ped away). I hope you enjoy some of these, happy reading!

keeping the vehicle garaged is about the best thing you can do for the car, next to a climate controlled warehouse, keeping it out of the weather really helps the deterioration process immensely, it sounds like the vehicle was started and has been driven, and that's good, depending on the engine and transmission, some rear main seals are easier to do than others, so take it in get an estimate, tell the mechanic it has not been driven much recently and give it a look over, generally it may not be a bad idea to get the belts replaced, and have heater hoses and radiator hoses changed, these are the main ones, and have the fluids changed, as oil and fluid get acidic over time when not used much, more than any thing, clean oil in the motor, clean transmission fluid and radiator and heater hoses are the most important. good luck hope this helps, I looked this up on the www.nada.com, and you are right its not worth much, but sounds like it could be a decent car with a little tlc

Can you eat sprouted lentils?

I made a stew with lentils the other day and now I see that the lentils sprouted a bit. I know people sprout lentils all the time, but I here that they usually leave the lentils in sunlight in water rather than leaving them in the fridge in stew.
