Will it be a good idea to buy a 1998 Plymouth Neon for $200?

It needs a new transmission but one of my coworkers wants to get rid of it because she does not want it anymore. There is no problems with paint or interior or anything, but she tells me i need to replace the transmission. Can anyone tell me anything about cost or if it is a good idea?
